A lovely natural-colored flower basket with loads of flow by early master Yamamoto Chikuryusai I (1868-1945). Chikuryusai was a remarkable scholar-aesthete in early-century Japan, and perhaps the only artist in any medium to enter and receive special awards at the foundational series of international art exhibitions beginning with the International Exposition of Modern and Decorative Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925, the Chicago World’s Fair in 1933, and the 1937 Paris International Exposition.
