A very early and dynamic work by Kajiwara Koho, one of the current elders in the field of bamboo arts. Koho's works are among the finest made today, but quite differnt from this basket, which clearly indicates the influence of Living National Treasure Shono Shounsai, who himself was a conduit for the deep tradition of bamboo basketry in Kyushu.
